Interstate 5 in Oregon is a north-south route in the western half of the state.

A view at one of the northbound rest stops
[A fence of posts with wire running through them at three levels segregates the grass of the rest area from the flowing river. Lots of trees line the river's edge, but only two have remnats of leaves. The air above the river is foggy, especially in the distance.]

View at a different northbound rest stop
[Looking at a hillside with several slopes covered with light green grasses and darker green shrubs. Trees of both the leafless and evergreen variety are futher up the hillside in the distance. Mist shrouds the view in the upper left.]

Interstate 205 in Oregon is a bypass around Portland.

Oregon City, Oregon
[Across a large river are a number of buildings at multiple levels on the heavily tree'd hillside.]

Mount Hood is more than 40 miles away, but is large enough to be visible.
[On a hillside above a river looking at the homes on the other side. In the distance is a mountain which has a sharp rise to its peak and appears to have quite a bit of snow on it, but the haze makes it difficult to be sure.]

Interstate 84 Burnt River Canyon rest stop - Oregon
August 28, 2006

Burnt River Canyon is north of the location of the prior photo.
[The rest stop and highway are in the valley of the canyon. There are trees growing at the rest stop, but they are dwarfed by the canyon hills. The hills are mostly brown, but do have some tree'd sections.]

Interstate 84 scenic viewpoint east of Pendleton, Oregon
September 18, 2013

A lot of open country when winding through the east Oregon mountains.
[Two photos stitched together showing a large, open expanse of tan vegetation on the ground and lots of puffy white clouds in a huge sky.]

Acres of farmland in this area
[Hills of wheat-colored vegetation with a few dark green trees visible scattered throughout.]

The clouds made interesting dark patches on the land.
[More farmland only this time it's flatter and there are buildings in view.]

Oregon State Route 3 in northeast Oregon
June 15, 2009

On State Route 3 north of Flora (The road is cut into the hillside on the right.)
[Road cut into mountain side and it curves in and out with the mountain.]

A closer view of the left side of the canyon
[The canyon walls are deep and covered in low-to-the-ground vegetation. There is scoring at many levels as if there once was water at each of the levels in the canyon.]
