On the road - Washington

Columbia River seen from Ohme Gardens County Park near Wenatchee.
[A view from above the river looking it as it disappears from view as it curves to the left because of the tall cavernous rock on the far shore.]

Cascade Mountain Range seen from Ohme Gardens County Park near Wenatchee.
[Over the tops of the evergreens is a hazy brown mountain range.]

Winchester Reservoir near Interstate 90 rest stop east of Wenatchee (The Glacial Lake Missoula floods scored this land stripping it of most of its soil.)
[Mostly flat land covered in very short tan grasses beside a body of water.]

On the road in Southeast Washington on State Route 129

Grande Ronde River
[View of river winding back and forth in a green, treed canyon.]

Another view of Grande Ronde River
[This is a little straighter section of river in the same deep canyon.]

Joseph Canyon was once the winter home of the Chief Joseph Band of Nez Perce.
[Two photos stitched together. Deeply scored mountains lead down to nooks and crannies below. Quite a few evergreens, but also quite a bit of land with either no or very little vegetation.]

Driving through the lower levels of the canyon.
[A view through the windshield of the car of the two lane road with basically walls of dirt on either side of the road. It's like being in a maze.]

Looking down on Washington Route 129 in the valley.
[Looking down in the valley at the ribbon of roadway winding back and forth.]

Looking at the next section of Washington Route 129 I will drive.
[The road as it winds around the mountain at the same level as the camera. There is a little in the photo of the roadway at the lower levels in the canyon.]
