A walk through the leaves
[A walkway with very tall leaves has two people in the distance in the middle of the completely leaf-covered path.]

A pond on the grounds
[Meandering waterway  with tall grasses around the edges partially obscuring the water. There are several leafless trees and an evergreen on the far side.]

Richland, Washington

Dock on the Columbia River
[The ground on the far side of the river is very flat with leafless vegetation along the edge. The sky above it is full of clouds. There is a narrow wooden dock with lots of birds sitting on it going across the length of the photo.]

Written on the top half of this Peace and Friendship marker is, "The Corps of Discovery and area tribes often had to make a series of translations to communicate. In an April 1806 visit, that process included English, French, Mandan/Hidatsa, Shoshoni and Walla Walla." Under the image on the marker is, "we found a Shoshone woman, prisoner amonth these people by means of whome and Sahcahgarweah we found the means of conversing with the Wollahwollahs. April 28, 1806 Meriwether Lewis"
[A tall thin stone stands in the middle of shorter stones connected by a ring of metal wire. There are pebbles around the marker which sits in the middle of a grassy section near the river.]

There are at least a dozen goslings with this adult pair of Canada geese. (Image taken March 2006.)
