An interesting caterpillar in the parking lot
[The parking lot surface is an aggregate of a lot of tiny small stone so the background color is varied, but the caterpillar is still visible. It is a brown color in the center. Along its edges are a dark brown stripe on either side of the center and at the very edges are stripes of dashed bright yellow.]

Snow goose (Not the usual time of year for them to be here.)
[A white bird with black feathers just at the tip of its tail standing on a sand dune.]

Dunes at Pistol River State Park
[Photos stitched together showing small, mostly grass-covered dunes at the river's edge. The ocean can be seen in the distance behind the dunes.]

Pacific Ocean backfilling the Pistol River at high tide.
[Ripples in the water at the mouth of the river show the high tide filling the river under a completely cloud-covered sky.]

View from Boardman State Park
[An expanse of clouds runs through the middle of the photo and blankets part of the ocean shore at this bay. The near ground and that to the right is clearly visible while the distance shore is covered by clouds.]

Arch Rock
[A rectangular shaped rock near the edge of the evergreen-treed shore. This rock has a flat top and a curved notch at its bottom extending nearly halfway up the rock through which water flows.]

Whale Rock (It probably looks more like a whale from this view than if I had been able to get closer.)
[A long rock in the middle of the water which gets slighly smaller in height from right to left. At the far left edge is a small triangle of rock attached to it and gives the appearance of the tail of a whale.]

A cove near Arch Rock
[A near-circular cove with a huge seastack topped with trees has blue green water.]

Mushrooms at Arch Rock viewpoint
[Mushroom lying on its side in the moss under the evergreens. Underside and stem are white and top is dark brown.]

[Mushroom with a very flat cap grows in the grass. Half of the top is missing.]

[Mushroom with a triangular-shaped cap growing in the grass. The tip of the cap is nearly black in color while the rest of the mushroom is tan and brown.]

[A nearly all-white mushroom with dirt on its cap grows in the grass under a tree.]

Trail at Arch Rock viewpoint is quite shady and wet which is why there are many mushrooms.
[A canopy of evergreens not only covers the trail, but the needles make a blanket on the ground. In the near distance fog enshrouds the tree trunks.]

Natural Bridges Cove
[Two arches under the rock allow ocean water into a cove. This rocky ground has many trees on it.]

Lone Ranch Beach
[Another nearly black and white photo. In this one, the sun lights up a bright path on the sand in the foreground making all the stones on the beach visible. Sun runs also light the water.]

Flowers at Lone Ranch Beach
[A five petal bloom with square-tip purple petals with a white at the center faces the camera. There are a few other blooms partially visible and lots of green leaves.]

[Growing among the tall wheat-colored grasses are plants with green stalkes and a profusion of bright pink blooms at the top. These may be a type of day-lily plant.]

Mollusks at Lone Ranch Beach
[The top section of a huge rock is covered with the shells such that little of the rock is visible. The shells and rock are both dark, but the shells have some light sections and are a different shade.]
