Silver Mountain Resort - Kellogg, Idaho
August 18, 2008

Start of world's longest gondola ride
[View of gondola cars at base of left.]

View from a gondola as it goes back down the mountains (Windows had scratch marks.)
[View of other gondolas on side of the mountain as seen from inside of a gondola.]

Lodge part way up Mount Kellogg
[View of lodge from further up the mountain.]

Snow gun on display by the lodge
[Snow making equipment.]

Ski lift after the lodge (Take this lift to reach the base of the lift which goes to the top.)
[Going down a ski lift to reach the lift to the next level.]

Huckleberries are the Idaho state fruit. Saw these along the nature trail at the level of the lodge.
[Huckleberry bush with ripe huckleberries.]

Interesting patterns on the rocks along the nature trail
[The huge rocks--small bounders have color variations that look like a skin disease with colors alternating between pinkish-tan and dark brown. The entire hillside is rocks, but there are evergreens at the top of the hill.]

View near the top of the mountain (The little white specks in the middle of the image are homes beside the interstate highway.)
[There are evergreens which are bright green along the edges of the image, but most are a hazy brown because they are down at the valley level and the distance to the top is huge.]

View from the top of Kellogg Peak (elevation 6,297 feet)
[The many neighboring mountains are shades of blue-grey indicating their distance from Kellogg Mountain. They all seem lower in height than Kellogg Mountain.]

Looking back toward Montana.
[An expanse of blue sky with a mountain on the right with a road curving around it and a paved area to pull off it. There is another mountain on the left covered with evergreens.]

The view when stepping close to the edge of the paved pulloff in the prior image
[Evergreens down the hillside along the valley and back up the mountains on the opposite side.]

Continue to road views while traveling from Coeur d'Alene to Boise. (page 7 of 10)
