Couer d'Alene to Boise - U. S. Route 95 and the Payette Scenic Byway in Idaho

Looking down on the town of Lewiston, Idaho. The Clearwater River on the left feeds into the Snake River on the right. The roadway winding across the hill is Route 95 traversing down the hill.
[The lumpy hill is covered in wheat-colored vegeation and no trees. The roadway is a series of switchbacks. On the other side of the hills in the haze are the rivers and buildings and trees.]

[Looking down a hillside at the vally below and the mountains with big vertical crevices filled with trees on the opposite side. There is a small lake in the valley and scattered trees and wheat-colored grasses.]

Route 95 is at far left near the vegetation on the hillside. White Bird Canyon is vast and separates north and south Idaho.
[The canyon seems to be a vast open area with hills and crevices and there's not much vegetation in the photo except right in the foreground. The roadway is barely visible since it is a distance away and blends in color-wise.]

[The river abuts a tall hillside on the far side and then winds around the hill out of view. The river looks calm and the hills around it are mostly light-colored rock and dirt.]

[The river rounds a bend out of sight to the right. The roadway is beside the river, but other than the river and the road, there is nothing but tall hillsides.]

[About a half dozen people are in a large inflatable raft on a wide river with lots of whitewash and rapids. It looks to be a very bumpy ride.]
