Guernsey, Wyoming (just east of the state line with Nebraska)
Huge numbers of wagons came through more than 150 years ago (between 1830's and 1860's) and carved these ruts into the ground and rock creating permanent changes which still exist.

Devils Tower seen through wildfire haze.
[Devil's Tower from a long distance with the entire rock visible.]

Close view of Devils Tower
[Image was taken from the area immediately around the towering rock. There are evergreen trees at the base. The individual columns of rock (naturally created) which make up the tower are visible. ]

As close as my camera's zoom could get.
[Image was taken from the area immediately around the towering rock zoomed in on the detail at the top of the tower. There is a large bird flying in the sky over the tower. The tower rock is like hooking together a bunch of pencils only this rock was created naturally. ]

Rock ridge near the Tower's base
[The rock ridge has a top section of rock that is tan with the rest having a reddish tint. There is an open field in front of the rock and trees growing on the rocks. ]
