Tree blooms
[Tree branches have a plethora of pink blooms with a few small green leaves between the blooms.]

Great blue heron
[Heron standing in river with turbulent water up to about its knees.]

Impressive wingspan of the heron
[Heron in the sky with wings fully outstretched.]

Traditional mallard couple
[Male floating atop the water with a female in front with her head completely in the water.]

Manky mallard couple
[Both ducks are resting on the grass. The male in the foreground has an all-brown head with a yellow beak. His body is shades of brown and white. The female sitting a foot or two away is the traditional mallard colors.]

One of two white round things I saw at the water's edge about 15 feet apart. (duck eggs?)
[White, round object completely under water amid stones.]

Muscovy duck
[Duck at edge of water with its head cocked to one side as if looking at the camera person.]

Interstate 24 Rest Stop - Tennessee River at Nickajack Lake (Tennessee just north of the border with Alabama)

View from the rest stop looking north.
[Large body of water with a two-arched bridge passing over it. Rolling green hilltops backdrop the water.]

Great blue heron flying over the lake.
[The heron flies about three feet above the water's surface with its wings in a vee above its body. A faint reflection of the bird is visible on the water's surface. On the far side of the lake the rocky hillside meets the guardrail for the road.]

Sweet gum tree leaves
[Light-green five-pointed star shaped leaves with darker-green veins handing from the branches overhead. A white blot of sunshine sits at the edge of one leaf.]
